Let’s Stop the Spread was the campaign used by Essex County Council to share all its Covid-19 communications. Simple, icon-based illustrations were used to convey key actions, aiming to reach a broad audience. The messaging was positive, inclusive, and designed to be clear and easy to understand.
Static infographics were posted on social media to encourage behaviour changes and remind people of good hygiene practices. Animated MP4s were used for more complex messages, showing preferred actions in a visual format. These efforts were complemented by printed materials, including newspaper ads and informational leaflets sent to every household in Essex.
